Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description
On a purple vertical rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border, displaying between four closed books in perspective, a torch enflamed, the flame between two arched laurel leaves all yellow.  Attached above the rectangle, a purple scroll inscribed BOWLING GREEN at top and PURPLES at bottom in yellow; all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Purple and gold are the school colors.  Purple represents royalty, a virtue the cadets show in maintaining a high standard in all they do.  Gold (yellow) signifies vigor, a trait the cadets reflect in following through in all of their goals and accomplishments. The books denote scholastic merit.  The torch enflamed reflects knowledge.  The two arched laurel leaves embody athletic achievements.  Purple Victory is found in the school fight song and translates in Latin to Purpura Victoria.

Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description
A Gold colored metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield blazoned:  Purpure, an arch throughout Or, masoned of the first.  Attached below the shield a Purple scroll inscribed PURPURA VICTORIA in Gold letters.  

Symbolism
Purple and gold are the school colors.  Purple represents royalty, a virtue the cadets show in maintaining a high standard in all they do.  Gold (yellow) signifies vigor, a trait the cadets reflect in following through in all of their goals and accomplishments. The arrowhead symbolizes the warrior spirit that all the cadets possess.  The arch is from the two arches in Fountain Square Park in Bowling Green.  The arch alludes to the strength and support each cadet contributes to the unit and together they form a solid bond.  Purple Victory is found in the school fight song and translates in Latin to Purpura Victoria.
