Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
On a seven sided shaped insignia consisting of a gray crenellated wall bearing two horizontal scarlet bands and charged with a yellow star and surmounted by a scarlet obelisk issuing from base between two blue scrolls inscribed ST. JOHNSS COLLEGE H.S. in silver letters all below and in front of a yellow demi-eagle all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in width.
The crenellated wall reflects the military training of the cadets. The two red stripes on the wall suggest the flag of the District of Columbia, which is an adaption of George Washingtons coat of arms. The star stands for the Star of Faith, a symbol of the Brothers of Christian Schools who administer the school. The obelisk refers to the Washington Monument and further alludes to the schools location. The eagle signifies the commitment of the Cadets to National defense.

Shoulder Loop Insignia
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a gray enamel shield on which are centered two horizontal red enamel stripes surmounted in the vertical center by a blue enamel representation of the Washington Monument, issuing from base and terminating above the top red stripe, all below a blue enamel chief embattled bearing a five pointed star between two lambs, each with a pennant, all gold. Attached above the shield on two branches conjoined olive to the viewers right and oak to the viewers left, an eagle with wings displayed. Attached below the shield, a gold arced scroll inscribed RELIGIO SCIENTIA in blue enamel letters.
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 20 September 1978.
