Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description
On a maroon disc edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border, the overall diameter 3 inches (7.62 cm) displaying a white owl detailed silver gray with maroon eyes, perched on a white limb  or a segment of a branch, centered between the inscription GAGE at the top and PARK at bottom in white  letters.

Symbolism
Maroon and white are the school colors.  The owl is the schools mascot. Maroon is symbolic of the courage of cadets as leaders in their school and the community, while white alludes to perfection a virtue the cadets seek to achieve in everything they do. 

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 19 December 1972.  It was amended 19 June 1973 to correct the color of the border, currently amended to include a manufacturing drawing, metrics, and measurements and update on 11 October 2013.  (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-1071)
