Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
On an orange octagon 2 13/16 inches (7.14 cm) in height and width overall with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) purple border, a purple silhouette of a telescope and tripod supported on each side by a rampart lion; to the upper left side of the telescope, a purple planet; all between the circular inscription GALILEO above and HIGH SCHOOL below in purple letter 5/16 inch (.80 cm) in height.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 4 October 1984. It was amended to add subdued colors and metric dimensions on 8 March 1991.
