Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description
 On a black vertical rectangular arched convexly at top and bottom edged with an 1/8 inch (.32) red border two red axes in saltire, blades silver gray and tips white, detailed black and hanging from each axe a feather white, silver gray and detailed black. Attached above the rectangle a black scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border inscribed SOUTH VIGO in white letters. Attached below the rectangle, a black scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border inscribed BRAVES in white letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm in width.

Symbolism
Red, white, and black are the school colors.  The red axes symbolize courage and allude to the schools mascot, the Brave. The white and silver gray blades represent the honor associated with being a cadet in the Braves Battalion. Black is symbolic of fierce determination. The feathers that hang from each axe denote the knowledge earned at South Vigo High.

Description
A silver colored metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of an arrowhead shaped point down, a chevron silver gray between Black at top and scarlet below.

Symbolism
Red, white (silver), and black are the schools colors.  The V chevron shape alludes to Vigo County, Indiana, home of the Braves Battalion. The arrowhead is a symbol of the South Vigo Braves Battalion.
