Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
On a purple shield edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border a white demi-disc issuant from the top and emitting three white rays to base surmounted by a yellow tilting helmet lined purple. Attached below the shield, a yellow scroll inscribed CAPITAL UNIVERSITY in purple letters.
Purple and white are the school colors. The field is purple while the three white design elements symbolize belief in the trinity. The 14th century helmet represents strength, leadership, and civic pride, and is taken from an engraving by Albrecht Durer. Durer was a contemporary of Martin Luther and was influenced by his ninety-five Theses.

Shoulder Loop Insignia
A silver metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height, consisting of a shield blazoned: Purpure, a helmet Argent. Attached below the shield a Silver scroll inscribed CRUSADER in Purple letters.
Purple and silver are the school colors. The helmet suggests a Crusader Warrior, the school mascot, and reflects the ideals the cadets strive for.
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 23 September 1997.
