Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description
On a black vertical rectangle with rounded corners 3 /12 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border a shield blazoned:  Gules, two cubit arms bendwise throughout clasping hands at honor point Sable between a wreath in sinister chief and a mortar board surmounted by a scroll fesswise in dexter base Argent (Silver Gray) all between a red wavy scroll issuant from sinister bearing the inscription JAGUARS in black letters above and a red wavy scroll inscribed HILLCREST in black letters below.

Symbolism
Red, black and silver reflect the colors of the school.  The shield denotes strength and dedication to the principles of the JROTC program.  The clasping hands reflect the cadets involvement in school, community, and country.  The wreath stands for excellence, for which the cadets strive, and the mortar board and scroll allude to the academic achievement.

 The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 28 April 1995. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-391)
