Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description
A shield shaped item with horizontal scroll attached above the shield, the overall dimensions 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches  (6.35 cm) in width; the shield divided vertically into two equal halves red and light blue edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) inch blue border and charged with an arced white thunderbolt fimbriated  blue; on a white horizontal scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border, the inscription MANUAL in blue letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 24 July 1950, currently amended to add subdued colors, metric measurements and provide a manufacturing drawing on 26 February 2014 (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-1087)

Description
A silver color metal and enamel insignia 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield divided into a light blue sky and dark blue mountains in base, issuing from base diagonally on the viewers left a silver hand grasping a red enamel torch enflamed.  Attached below the shield a blue enamel scroll inscribed AD DISCENDUM DUCERE in silver letters.  (SLI is for Denver High Schools, now Denver School District.)  

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 8 July 1975.
