A shield shaped item with scroll attached below, 3 5/8 inches in height and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width overall at its widest point, consisting of a shield divided vertically into two halves, burnt orange to the dexter and blue to the sinister surmounted by a white vertical stripe, on a green chief fimbriated yellow a white disc bearing a white and yellow compass, the shield within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border; and attached below the shield a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border and inscribed MADISON in brunt orange letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.
The upper portion of the insignia represents the school district. The bottom is divided into thirds to illustrate Madisons school colors, orange, white and blue.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 31 October 1985 currently amended to include an updated manufactured drawing on 11 April 2014. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-21)
