On a red oval edged with a 1/16 inch (.16 cm) white inner border and a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black outer border, 3 1/4 inch (8.26 cm) in height by 2 11/16 inches (6.83 cm) in width overall, a black panther head, garnished white, eye yellow, tongue red, between the inscription MOREHEAD arcing above and HIGH SCHOOL arcing below in white letters.
Red, white and black are the school colors. The panther is the schools mascot.
The shoulder Sleeve insignia was originally authorized on 13 April 1992 currently amended to update the manufactured drawing on 19 June 2014. (TIOH Drawing Number a-10J-256)
